Steven Van Steenhuyse, AICP
Steven has been Director of Development Services for the City of Mason City since 2012. Steven earned a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa in 1987 and has worked as a planner and department head for cities in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. From 2004 to 2012, he worked as a planning consultant in Michigan, and authored dozens of comprehensive plans and zoning ordinances, with clients as far away as Alaska. Since 2018, Steven has been the chair of the Legislative and Policy Committee for the Iowa Chapter of the American Planning Association.
