Jovana Kolasinac

Jovana Kolasinac is the APA Iowa Chapter Graduate Student Representative from the University of Iowa. Originally from Serbia, Jovana is a second-year graduate student in the Master of Urban and Regional Planning program at the University of Iowa, with a focus on transportation planning. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Jovana previously worked as an architect, gaining valuable experience in design and project management. Her passion lies in increasing active transportation options and exploring how urban design can motivate people to choose sustainable modes of transport. She aims to integrate her architectural background with her planning and transportation knowledge to create sustainable urban environments that encourage walkability, cycling, and public transit, promoting healthier, more equitable communities.
