Charlie Cowell is an urban planner with RDG Planning & Design. At RDG, Charlie works on a range of planning projects and focuses more on comprehensive planning, housing studies, development regulations, and other market studies. Previous to joining RDG Charlie was a staff planner with the City of Sioux City, where he administered codes, site plan review, and the local historic preservation commission. He has served on the Iowa APA Board his entire professional career, first as the University of Iowa Student Representative, then the Awards Co-Chair and Professional Development Chair. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa.
