A professional and passionate Planner is needed to become the newest member of the City of Salina’s team! As a member of the Community & Development Services Department, our newest Planner will be will be impactful in the community by implementing the City’s Comprehensive Plan through project management, code administration, case management, and program administration related to social justice, housing, sustainability, historic preservation, economic development, neighborhood revitalization, transportation, and other current and long range planning activities. 

Our next Planner will have a commitment to our values, a strategic approach to leadership, continuous process improvement and community service. Other qualifications include:

Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in urban planning, geography, architecture, public administration or related field; AICP certification or AICP candidate status preferred.

Experience: Three (3)–five (5) years of planning experience; familiarity with boards & commissions; current and/or long range planning ability; skilled in Geographical Information System (GIS) preferred.

*This position can both be applied for and hired as a Planner I or II, depending on qualification.
