Keerthana Kishore Kumar is the APA Iowa Chapter Graduate Student Representative from Iowa State University. Keerthana is a first-year graduate student in the Master of Community and Regional Planning program at Iowa State University with a focus on land use and transportation. Her passion for urban planning and transportation was ignited during a yearlong volunteer experience in her home country, India. She worked on the ground, addressing critical challenges related to walkability, safety, and access to public transportation for individuals from diverse backgrounds in the city. Keerthana has a bachelor's degree in architecture from Bangalore University, India, with a Gold medal and also served as the Unit Secretary representing her institution at the National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA), India. She aspires to be a Transportation Planner and work towards creating walkable cities.
